Over a month has passed yet this demo looks exactly the same as
the 4-14-89 version, but that's because all the changes are behind
the scenes. The Top Rider controller is now integrated into
the game engine and the player can move the background around the
screen. Unfortunately since emulators don't support this
unreleased controller it's not possible to show it. Upon
startup the screen will briefly flash 123456789ABCDEF but that's
all you're going to see in this demo without the Top Rider
controller. With the controller plugged the bottom of the
screen would show debug numbers relating to data coming from the
controller port and allow the player to move the background
around. Interestingly when the road is scrolled too far off
the screen it becomes distorted and looks like a bunch of
horizontal lines.
It is unknown if Super Stunt Cycle ever went any further than
this demo as the game was falling behind schedule (it was due in
approximately three weeks from the time of the demo).
This is all you're going to see
without the special controller
With the controller you can drive
around
But go too far and this happens
Notice the different numbers and
letters in the readout?
