Frogger II: Threeedeep!

Original System: Atari 400/800

Similar to the original Frogger, the 5200 port of Frogger II offers the option of playing using the keypad instead of the joystick due to the 5200's non-centering joystick.  However unlike the original Atari 400/800 version, the 5200 version of Frogger II removes the ability to have two players.  Why the two player feature was removed is unknown but the * key now selects between joystick and keypad rather than the 0 button.  The 1UP text next to the players score is not present in the 5200 version due to the game being one player only.

One other minor change between the two versions was the hidden copyright strings.  In the 400/800 version they say: "Larry Gelberg '84" and "@1984 Parker Brothers S -LMG" while in the 5200 version they simply say "Larry Gelberg" and "@1984 Parker Brothers -LMG".  It's unknown why these were changed but it may have been due to the way the code was moved around when it was ported, although the extra 'S' in the copyright string in the 400/800 version was probably a typo anyway.

Sega had the disk rights to Frogger II and released a version for the Atari 400/800 computers.  This version is the same as the 400/800 PB version but has a nice title screen picture that is displayed while the game is loading.  This picture was used in magazine adverts and in other computer versions.
