Pole Position

Original System: Atari 5200

Pole Position is another case of having to relocate some controller functions due to the Atari 400/800 only having a single fire button.  In Pole Position's case the dedicated acceleration button was removed and the car was made to auto accelerate (the remaining fire button still functions as the brakes).  Depending on who you ask this change either makes the game much nicer to play or much more difficult as the player can now no longer lay off the gas to slow down.  The Atari 400/800 version also features copy protection that was not found in the original due to the rampant piracy on the system.  Everything else about the two versions is the same.
