Monitor 1.1 Upgrade

Towards the end of its support for the system, Exidy released an upgrade to the built-in internal Monitor program.  This upgrade (v1.1) fixed several bugs and added a few commands.  The most important of these bug fixes is to the cassette and serial I/O routes which makes saving/loading from tapes more reliable.  This upgraded Monitor program was never put into production (except possibly in Australia), but the code was released so users could upgrade their own systems.

Interestingly, one bug present in version 1.0 was specifically not fixed.  Fixing this bug, which caused a vertical tab instead of a horizontal tab when the tab key was used with lower case letters, would have broken the Word Processor Pac which was coded to take this bug into account.

Since Exidy never manufactured v1.1 ROMs, users must burn the file onto a pair of 2716 5v EPROMs.  These EPROMs replace the two Monitor chips on the motherboard which are conveniently socketed for easy removal.  You may also have change a jumper to change the voltage going to the EPROMs from 3v to 5v.
